At Rainbow Bicester we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework September (2014) working in partnership with parents/carers to promote the learning and development of all children within our care.
There are seven areas of learning and development that shape the educational programme we provide. All of these areas are important and inter-connected.
There are three areas which are particularly crucial to developing children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning, forming relationships and their future progression.
Three prime areas are:
We also support children in four further specific areas, through which the three prime areas are reinforced and applied.
The specific areas are:
We operate a Key Person system to ensure that every child’s care is tailored to meet their individual needs, helping the child to become familiar with the setting and cope with their transition from home into Pre-School.
This approach provides a much more settled relationship for the child and develops positive relationships with parent/carers ensuring a real parent/provision partnership.
Working together in partnership allows staff the best insight into the next steps for individual children helping them to attain the goals set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Rainbow Bicester works closely with Glory Farm School to ensure continuity and progression for all children in our care.
Staff at Rainbow Bicester and Glory Farm School Foundation unit, co-operate in the curriculum planning and our aims, values and structures are similar.
Each Childs work within the Foundation Stage and their progress is recorded and goes on with each child to whichever Primary School they will be attending.
You can find out more about the Early Years Foundation Stage's statutory framework on the GOV.UK Early Years Foundation Stage webpage.
